History
In 1996, Pegasus Interactive began with little more than an idea to create dynamic multi-media software that would be more effective than current day analog businesses systems, help customers communicate more clearly and let individuals train more effectively.
In those days, microcomputer processing power had finally reached the point where personal computers could successfully run software that included a minimal amount of animation, audio and video (without crashing or the need for special hardware). With this in mind, we believed that there was a large enough installed base of PC's to enable significant usage of interactive multimedia programs, and that the demand for this type of software would grow exponentially. We also recognized that the internet was to change the world forever, and wanted to be near the vanguard of this new frontier.
Another key part of our vision was to differentiate our company by focusing on subject areas and industries in which we had significant personal and professional experience. Along with our strong passion for software development, we had confidence that we could generate great software that would be unique.
With those ideals and goals, along with plenty of blind faith, ambition and courage, we started to engage clients from the PC and aerospace markets. We were hired by several global technology companies, including Samsung, Ricoh and BF Goodrich Aerospace, to create interactive training and marcomm applications, as well as develop both internet and intranet solutions.
In early 2001, we discovered a need for CBT to train general aviation pilots more effectively on advanced avionics systems. This opportunity was due in part to the lack of FAA mandated CBT for complex emerging cockpit electronics, and also by the fact that the manufacturers provided only traditional training materials with their products. To fill this significant training void, we began to create our own brand of scenario-based, guided simulation programs, VFLITE, which became widely accepted, adopted and recognized, eventually winning numerous industry awards. Concurrently, we created our own Digital Rights Management (DRM) system, to protect our intellectual property and software from the ever-present threat of piracy.
Several years later, we acquired the software property and welcomed aboard key talent from Momentum Interactive, another developer of aviation training and flight planning applications, to both broaden our product line and add depth to our development team and capabilities.
Over time, the success of our VFLITE brand required significant resources and overhead to create and maintain sales, marketing, distribution and support. As a result, we made a strategic decision that would let us focus on what we do best; software development. In past few years, we've signed resale agreements for our line of CBT, CAI and flight planning programs, which are currently marketed by GarminŽ & Jeppesen, a unit of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
Today, we thrive on developing innovative Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and courseware for resale and customer use, as well as license of our DRM & LMS systems to a variety of organizations. Due to our on-going growth, we continue to add new clients, hire new talent and add new branches of operation. With evolving partnerships and a well-respected client base, the future looks only bright for the stars that make up our constellation.
