April 1, 2010 - Pegasus sells software product line to Jeppesen.
Pegasus Interactive announced today that it has sold the computer-based training programs it developed and previously marked under the VFLITE brand name. The courseware had recently been resold by Jeppesen as part of the Jeppesen Avionics and CFI Knowledge Libraries.
The courses are highly interactive, multimedia-based eLearning applications for initial and recurrent training on glass cockpit, panel mount and handheld avionics, including the Garmin® G1000, GNS® 530W/430W, GPSMAP® 696/695, GPSMAP® 496/495, GPSMAP® 396/395, as well as other portable GPS hardware. Jeppesen has also acquired several computer-aided instructional programs originally created by Pegasus Interactive that help flight instructors dynamically convey key flight training concepts. In addition, Jeppesen has purchased a popular weight and balance planning application for light GA aircraft.
Initially marketed by Pegasus Interactive under the VFLITE™ brand beginning in 2002, the award-winning avionics eLearning courses address the highly perishable skills syndrome that affects pilots using complex cockpit systems. This series of scenario-based, guided simulation courseware use a three-step learning methodology (demo, training & solo modes) that first shows a task (using animated graphics and narration), then lets the student practice the same task, using high fidelity simulation aided with on-screen text prompting, with and without assistance (for reinforcement and assessment). This multi-mode learning methodology, pioneered by Pegasus Interactive and now widely adopted, has proven to let pilots retain a significantly higher percentage of avionics "knobology" and is much more effective than video-based training.
Jeppesen is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado and has offices located around the world. Jeppesen is a subsidiary of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, a unit of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. With over 70 years of industry leading experience, Jeppesen makes it possible every day for people around the globe to safely and efficiently reach their destinations. - Back to Top

March 17, 2008 - Pegasus completes development of G1000 Primary CBT.
Pegasus Interactive has finished development of the Jeppesen G1000 Training--Core Functions and VFR Procedures CBT program. The application is an extensive program that teaches the skills required to master and confidently fly the G1000. The Jeppesen scenario-based, guided simulation system provides comprehensive initial and recurrent knowledge of all core functions and tasks required for VFR flight, and greatly facilitates the transition to flying the Garmin glass cockpit.
The program uses a multi-step, proven method to teach procedures: first, the demo mode plays an animated, narrated "movie" to illustrate the selected topic. A scenario is featured in the demo to make the training realistic and effective. Next, the interactive modes prompt users through the same scenario and task that was previously demonstrated, supported with on-screen text to help guide students through the correct actions. A solo mode provides assessment and reinforces knowledge by allowing students to perform the task, but without any on-screen prompting. Students receive immediate feedback for any incorrect actions and a help system is available if needed.
This scenario-based, guided simulation training system helps pilots get the most from their avionics and allows them to train and learn in the right environment-on the ground. The effective use of these training programs increases flight safety by minimizing "heads down" time, often incurred when pilots are unfamiliar with their avionics systems. While excellent for initial training use, the programs are also valuable re-current learning courses that address the highly perishable skills issues that develop with infrequent use of complicated aircraft electronic systems.

February 10, 2008 - UND Aerospace chooses Pegasus DRM System.
Pegasus Interactive announced today that UND Aerospace has chosen to use the Pegasus Digital Rights Management (DRM) System to protect UND's CATS training software.
The DRM solution, for Windows compatible software developed in Adobe Flash/Flex, controls the number of times that authorized users are permitted to activate an application and uses electronic means to capture unique information about the user's installation environment and then transmits that information to a central database for validation. The database is redundant with a secondary server mirroring the primary. An unsuccessful attempt to contact the primary sever will result in automatic connection to the backup sever. In addition to the automated, in-program activation, users are provided an alternate web-based method to activate the software, if the customers PC cannot access (or doesn't have connectivity to the) internet.
Pegasus will wrap the UND application with the front end of the DRM solution, and set up the server side elements (database, scripts, client administration back-end, etc.) as well, and provide hosting of the online elements.
UND Aerospace is an international leader in collegiate and contract aviation education and training services flying over 90,000 hours per year in over 120 aircraft. With more than 1,900 students from throughout the world, the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences is the second largest college at the University of North Dakota. Undergraduate and graduate programs leading to a variety of rewarding careers in aerospace are offered through five different academic departments: aviation, atmospheric sciences, computer science, earth system science and policy, and space studies. The UND Aerospace training complex is the most technologically advanced environment for aerospace education, training and research in the world.
