Digital Rights Management (DRM) Solution
The Pegasus Interactive DRM system was originally created to protect the VFLITE brand of training software we developed. When you spend thousands of hours developing your Flash/Flex-based software, it only make financial sense to ensure that it is used by paying customers, and not passed along to unauthorized users. After six years of refinement, we offer our DRM solution to help you minimize piracy/soft lifting, and get the maximum return on your development investment.
The DRM solution is for Windows compatible software. It controls the number of times that authorized users are permitted to activate your Adobe Flash/Flex developed application. It uses electronic means to capture unique information about the user's installation environment and then transmits that information to a central database for validation. The database is redundant with a secondary server mirroring the primary. An unsuccessful attempt to contact the primary sever will result in automatic connection to the backup sever. In addition to the automated, in-program activation, users are provided an alternate web-based method to activate the software, if the customers PC cannot access (or doesn't have connectivity to the) internet.
Pegasus wraps the Adobe Flash/Flex developed application with the front end of the DRM solution, and sets up the server side elements (database, scripts, client administration back-end, etc.) as well, and provides hosting of the online elements. We provide you with any quantity of user activation keys. These keys are unique, and are supplied with the software deliverable (whether delivered as a tangible good on CD-ROM or DVD-ROM, or as an intangible good, if downloaded from an online-store).
The DRM will capture and report user data during registration of your application and the captured data will be sent electronically to a database hosted and maintained by Pegasus. You are provided an administrative application to access the database, that lets you provide customer DRM service after activation.
The DRM consists of the following elements:
- Copyright protected MS Windows-based application.
- Web hosting for on-line components of DRM.
- Web-based administration for Client management of key codes and customer requests regarding activation and/or re-activation.
- Initial database of key codes for client's customers use to register & activate the application.
- Administration instructions for Client.
- Registration & activation instructions for Client's customer use.
